I recently assembled an IKEA Metod kitchen and am now facing the challenge of securely attaching the toe kicks while keeping them as invisible as possible. The original fastening methods with clips are straightforward, but I’ve noticed that the toe kicks tend to wobble slightly, especially at the corners and joints. Therefore, I’m looking for tips or techniques to fasten the Metod toe kicks more securely without visible screws or brackets. I’m mainly interested in a professional solution that has little to no impact on the appearance and is durable over time. Does anyone have experience or recommendations on how to attach the Metod toe kicks firmly and discreetly? I would appreciate any advice!

I like the approach but would like to add that it should only be recommended if the base kitchen cabinets are actually placed on a solid floor and not a floating installation.

Good point, thanks for the note! In fact, I use the main system only on conventional screed or concrete floors because a floating installation can cause disadvantages.

I am also critical of the approach using mounting adhesive, as it is difficult to remove if adjustments are needed later.

Absolutely correct, which is why I recommend using adhesive only in spots and for final kitchens. For flexibility and rework, it’s better to use only mechanical fasteners.

In my recent projects, I have also used concealed screws with small cover caps in two cases; these are hardly visible and can easily be removed if needed.

If you want something truly invisible: use special concealed baseboard clips available from specialist retailers. These clips attach inside the baseboard and to the floor. Screw them firmly behind the baseboard without any visible edges.
