Hello everyone, I am planning to install IKEA Metod corner cabinets in my kitchen and want to make sure I maximize the available storage space. My question is: How can I set up IKEA Metod corner cabinets to provide the most storage capacity? I am interested in all aspects, such as the arrangement of interior components, use of corner solutions (like carousels or wire baskets), optimal positioning of shelves, and any possible tips that IKEA doesn’t directly suggest. Does anyone have practical advice or experience on how to design corner cabinets so that no space is wasted and the usability remains as convenient as possible? Thanks in advance!

It is better to make better use of the depth with pull-outs arranged on multiple levels, thus making the space ergonomically accessible.I agree. Adjustable shelves and interior pull-outs with variable height also help to optimize storage, especially for irregularly shaped kitchen utensils.
Basically, when using IKEA Metod corner cabinets, two important points should be considered: 1) Choose the right corner solution – for example, LeMans for maximum utilization or carousels for better accessibility. 2) Use internal pull-outs/drawers that create clear organization. Simply installing shelves wastes storage space and makes the usage impractical.
I just thought of something else that can greatly improve comfort: in addition to maximizing storage space, plan the handle positions and opening directions. Sometimes people overlook that, for example, two doors might block each other or that you can’t reach the back area anymore. I understand that this can be missed during initial planning, so it’s better to measure carefully and draw it out beforehand.

Accurate measurements are important to avoid door overlaps.Thank you, that’s an important tip. I’m considering how to best maintain the distance between doors in the corner. Is there a general rule of thumb or a recommended measurement provided by IKEA, or one that you find practical? Also, I’m curious whether it’s worth choosing doors with handle bars versus recessed handles, since the latter might save space at the corners.
