Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project to assemble several IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets and install built-in appliances like an oven and dishwasher. I am familiar with the standard instructions, but since I am unclear about the exact order of the assembly steps and how to handle the specific brackets and panels, I wanted to ask: How do I properly assemble IKEA Metod cabinets with built-in appliances to ensure the appliances are securely and precisely installed, the cabinet doors fit well, and the kitchen units are stable and visually appealing? I look forward to constructive advice, especially regarding the removal of support profiles, aligning the appliances, and any potential pitfalls during assembly.

Hello Colby, I often assemble IKEA Metod kitchens myself and have found that some key points contribute to success:
- Before starting assembly, make sure to lay out and sort all individual parts.
- Cabinets are best assembled by two people, especially when installing appliances.
- For built-in appliances, carefully compare the appliance manufacturer’s instructions with the IKEA guidelines. Note that some appliances have different minimum clearance requirements, for example, for ventilation.
- When installing appliances, follow this sequence: first assemble the cabinet, then insert and secure the appliances, and finally attach the fronts.
- It’s best to adjust the fronts with a second person, as the hinges are very finely adjustable and this works better with a steady hand.
- If the appliances are to support the fronts, test beforehand how stable the base is for bearing the weight. Provide additional support such as mounting plates if necessary.
