Anne-Marit17 Mar 2009 15:12Hello,
I bought the Hedda Blad curtains and assumed they could also be hung with regular rings, since there is a symbol like that printed on the packaging. Now that I have unpacked the curtains, I honestly don’t see how that would work. The curtains have hidden loops on the back and, in my opinion, can only be slid onto a rod. Does anyone know how I can attach these to a standard curtain rod? I would really appreciate your help and any suggestions.

I believe there is also a way to add eyelets to the fabric afterwards and reinforce them with metal. Unfortunately, this isn’t really a DIY job; you’d need a professional or the right tools – I think there is a special plier for that (similar to the tool used for attaching snap fasteners).
Alternatively, you can buy small eyelets (wooden or metal rings) that fit your curtain rod and sew them individually directly onto the fabric. It’s a bit more work, but it should also be possible.
If in doubt, I’d just go to the curtain section of a fabric store – they are always very friendly and, above all, very knowledgeable. My favorite place is the remnants bin. But maybe the curtain department at Ikea knows about this too.
Okay, nothing more comes to mind right now. I hope I could provide some useful ideas….
Best regards
