Hello,
I have a door handle with a lock in the basement. The key can only be inserted from the outside. I want to replace the lock cylinder with one that can also be locked from the inside.
My question is: Can I remove the lock the usual way by unscrewing the side screw and pulling out the cylinder? And is it possible to install a lock that I can then lock from inside? Or is that not possible because the interior side is covered? I plan to install a Nuki digital lock there, which will have a key on the inside that can be turned.

You just have to check – I’m not sure if the NUKI 1/2 still exists at all...

Yes, simply remove the screw, insert the key, and measure. A cylinder always has two dimensions, for example 60mm (2.4 inches) on the left and 40mm (1.6 inches) on the right, or 50mm (2 inches) / 80mm (3.1 inches), etc. There are double-sided cylinders, and even options that allow you to leave the key inside "if there is enough space" while still being able to unlock from the outside.
