Hello everyone, I am facing the challenge of fitting my Ikea Pax wardrobe as efficiently as possible into a relatively small bedroom. Since the Pax, due to its modular design and generous storage capacity, seems ideal, I am curious how others deal with spatial limitations. Specifically, I am interested in tips and experiences regarding the appropriate wardrobe depth, the best positioning within the room, wardrobe door design (e.g., sliding doors vs. hinged doors), and how to maintain as much free movement and openness in the space as possible despite the size of the Pax. Are there particular planning approaches or accessories that have proven especially useful in small bedrooms to keep the space functional and visually uncluttered? Thanks for all the advice and suggestions!

Do you think the integrated mirrors are durable enough for daily use?

Yes, the mirrors on Pax doors are fairly sturdy since they are usually mounted behind a glass panel or integrated into the door surface. However, care should be taken during transport and installation.

Are there any special tips for maintaining the surface?

Important points:
- Clean regularly with a mild glass cleaner that has no harsh additives.
- Avoid using abrasive sponges.
- It’s better to remove fingerprints with a soft microfiber cloth.

If you need additional lighting, I would recommend ceiling or wall lights instead of adding more mirrors to avoid visual clutter.

Conclusion: Mirror fronts are a really good and space-saving option if they are properly maintained and handled with care.

Do you think the built-in mirrors are stable enough for everyday use? Or would it be better to add wall mirrors in small rooms for improved light distribution?

To add a bit more: As klo40 already mentioned, the mirrors are sturdy, but additional wall mirrors provide extra flexibility in styling – for example, in another part of the room that gets more natural light.

Regarding scratches, there are protective covers or cleaning pads available that help protect the surface. This is especially useful if you have children.

And very important: Be careful not to overtighten the mirrors during installation, as the glass can develop stress and cracks. This is often overlooked.

Regarding positioning: Avoid locations in front of windows.
Sliding doors fit well in small spaces.
Mirrors on doors visually expand the space.
The 35cm (14 inch) depth saves space.
Interior fittings should be planned individually.
