Hello,
In my new build, Cat 7 network cables were included in the offer. The cables lead to a distribution panel in the utility room, which is labeled as Cat 6. How can I best verify whether these are actually Cat 7 cables?
The cables are orange and have the marking CAT E60 RY.

"Genuine" Cat.7 is uncommon because it requires a different connector type, while the "Western RJ45" is widely favored as the standard. The highest-grade Western patch panels are inevitably rated below Cat.7, which in my opinion does not significantly reduce the benefits of the cable properties. However, this often causes confusion for the "end user."

The system will not fully meet CAT 7 standards, yes. However, it is easy to buy and install CAT 7 cables. Why not? Just because the connector can’t keep up doesn’t mean the cable should be considered “inferior.”
Aside from that, GG45 connectors could also be used, which are specified up to 1000 MHz and are backward compatible with RJ-45. But where there is no benefit, there is no investment.
