ᐅ How can I properly maintain my hardwood flooring?

We have had an oiled hardwood floor in our new house for two months, and we are struggling with its cleaning and maintenance. The floor still looks uneven! Will it always stay like this, or will it even out over time so that the floor has a consistent appearance as we had actually expected?
