Hello everyone,
I will be moving soon and want to carefully dismantle my IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets and professionally reassemble them at the new location. I have several questions: How can I take apart the cabinets without damaging the materials or fittings? What should I pay special attention to during transport to avoid scratches or other damage? Is it better to completely remove the door hinges or leave them attached? Are there any specific tips for organizing small parts like screws and dowels to ensure nothing gets lost during reassembly?
I appreciate any experiences or ideas, especially from people who have done this several times with Metod cabinets. Thank you in advance!

If anyone has specific experience with reusing old fittings or readjusting door hinges during installation, I would be very grateful for any tips! When reusing fittings, keep in mind that screw holes may become slightly loose after dismantling. If the fittings feel loose, you can reinforce them with special wood shims or small wooden dowels.
Door hinges are usually adjustable: carefully adjust them vertically, in depth, and laterally to ensure the doors fit flush and without gaps once hung. Patience and a delicate touch are important here. A well-functioning cordless drill with fine adjustment bits is a big help.
I recommend hanging all doors before fully tightening the screws to check the fit.
