Hello everyone,

I recently assembled a Pax wardrobe from Ikea, but unfortunately some parts were missing or lost during the process. Now I am facing the challenge of ordering these missing components—such as rails, connectors, and certain screws—separately.

My specific question is: What is the best way to order missing or defective parts for my Pax wardrobe from Ikea? Is there a central resource, like a spare parts service or dedicated contact options? Is it necessary to use the item number, or can orders also be placed using the wardrobe model and part description?

I look forward to your tips and experiences, especially regarding the procedures, waiting times, and costs involved.

Thanks in advance!

I reviewed the assembly instructions for the Pax, but I couldn't find any specific article numbers for these small parts.

Many Ikea assembly guides unfortunately do not list these numbers. From my experience, it is sufficient to contact Ikea service staff in-store or customer service with detailed descriptions, ideally including the exact model and manufacturing year of the cabinet.

The metal rails, screws, and plastic connectors are often stocked spare parts that Ikea can locate even without an article number.

It is advisable to clearly explain the function of the parts beforehand, either online or by phone (e.g., “drawer rail for Pax 50x236 cm (20x93 inches) white,” “white shelf connectors for Pax carcass”). This speeds up the process.

Costs are generally moderate, and small parts are often replaced free of charge if the missing delivery can be verified.

Nicklas,

if you can’t find the article numbers, call Ikea directly and explain the situation.

- Specify the parts exactly
- Provide the cabinet model and dimensions
- Ask about availability and ordering options

They will assist you further.

I would like to add that you can also reorder parts at IKEA by visiting the service desk in a larger store.

There, they can check on-site if the spare parts are available, and you can usually take them with you immediately.

If that is not possible, your order is generally processed in the background and delivered within one to two weeks.

Don’t forget to provide as detailed information as possible about the cabinet and the missing parts – photos are often helpful for customer support, but if that’s not possible, use the exact names of the parts.
