Hello everyone, I am currently working on assembling IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets and wondering how I can effectively reduce the assembly time. What proven strategies, tools, or preparation techniques can you recommend to make this often very time-consuming process significantly faster and safer at the same time? I am interested in both general tips and specific tricks related to assembly, organization, and division of work that can optimize the installation of Metod. Thanks in advance for your experiences and recommendations!

Can you recommend specific models? So far, I only have basic cordless screwdrivers and wonder if the time saved is really significant. I believe the supposed time savings from better cordless screwdrivers are often overestimated. Much more important is experience with the assembly and carefully planning the steps. A faster screwdriver alone does not significantly reduce assembly time if the basic processes are not optimized. If you don’t think through the order of work well, delays or mistakes often occur.

What really helped me was staying patient and taking breaks to continue with a clear mind. Additionally, I kept checking in on my own pace and talked about it to avoid putting too much pressure on myself. You shouldn’t be fooled by fast assembly—quality matters.

A faster handyman alone does not significantly reduce assembly time if basic processes are not optimized. This is an important point that I may have underestimated until now. So, I see that the key lies more in preparation and effective planning than just in better tools.

Patience is important; better to go slowly and avoid mistakes than to have to take everything apart later. I will take that to heart. Thanks to everyone for the helpful tips, especially regarding task management, tools, and mental preparation. I will report back on how it goes once I get started.
