ᐅ How can I protect and landscape my 4x4 meter wooden deck from the sun?

I really like my new wooden deck, especially because of the sunlight exposure in the evenings when the sun stays out longer. However, since it is located right next to the fence (street) and the parking space, I do feel a bit too exposed sitting there.
Also, in the summer there is often too much sun, while in spring and autumn I imagine that with some protection, I could use the area for longer periods.
Since I also want to transform part of the lawn into a more natural, wild garden, I am looking for good ideas to make the space more comfortable—plant suggestions would be especially welcome, as I am a complete beginner in this area.
I would like to build the additions myself (out of wood?), as I enjoy that kind of work. This project is planned for next spring anyway, as other tasks are more important at the moment.
At the front corner where the sun umbrella is currently placed, or about 1 meter (3 feet) towards the house (in the direction of the photographer), I will soon plant a 2 to 2.5 meter (6.5 to 8 feet) tall catalpa tree because it provides nice shade...

Okay, I really like the pergola from @SaniererNRW123, it just needs some greenery (trellis?).
May I ask what the dimensions of the pergola are? Was it bought or self-built? Approximately how much did it cost?

My lawn isn’t completely green anymore either, can’t really water it every day. Waiting for some rain 😳

okay, I quite like the pergola from @SaniererNRW123Thanks – but that’s just a photo from an advertisement. It’s available on the Outflexx homepage from several manufacturers. In my previous house, I had a version from an Israeli manufacturer with a tent-style roof made of twin-wall polycarbonate panels and retractable side panels. However, I can’t recall the manufacturer’s name anymore.i_b_n_a_n schrieb:

We had a pergola like that... you can find them at hardware stores every year starting at about €450 (around $490). I believe the common sizes are 3 x 4 meters (10 x 13 feet) and 4 x 4 meters (13 x 13 feet). Ours was from Bauhaus. The fabric started to come loose in the second year. Then we attached reed mats on top of it... two years ago, a storm destroyed the entire pergola. Still, it served us satisfactorily for several years.

I can’t remember the name of the manufacturer anymore.Palram was the manufacturer. Now it’s probably Palram-Canopia. It’s different from what you get at a hardware store, but also different in price.Thank you very much for the many similar opinions and information (Pergola with greenery). I forgot to mention: where the current "moderately attractive temporary bamboo privacy screen" is located, an yew hedge will be planted around October. However, I could also imagine adding a trellis on the inside to grow vines or something similar.
