Hello everyone, I would like to customize my Ikea Pax wardrobe specifically for storing jewelry and accessories. I am looking for a functional and visually appealing solution to organize rings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, and similar items in a clear and protected way. I am interested in practical interior fittings such as drawer inserts or compartments, as well as ideas for using existing components from the Pax system or additional modules that can be easily integrated. Do you have any specific tips or experiences on how to best modify the Pax for jewelry and small accessories? Especially tricks for layout, choice of materials, or special storage solutions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for your input!

For chains, I recommend hooks on the inside of the doors that keep enough distance.

Exactly that! This prevents tangling and also looks neat when the chains hang properly. I simply fixed the hooks to the door with small screws, and it holds very well. The important thing is to always close the doors gently; otherwise, you get unpleasant scratches. A small foam strip all around can help soften the latch impact.

To optimize the Pax wardrobe for jewelry and accessories, I recommend a combination of the following measures:
- Custom inserts made of velvet or soft felt to protect delicate materials
- Modular drawer organizers with adjustable compartments for different types of jewelry
- Hook rails on the inside of the door for necklaces to prevent tangling
- Use of narrow trays for watches and bracelets to keep items well organized
- Consideration of the load capacity of drawer slides and shelves

These suggestions are based on the requirements for protection, clarity, and accessibility. Furthermore, I recommend precise measurements of the interior space and careful planning of the layout, so that elements like drawers or hooks do not reduce storage capacity. Proper fit and material choice are crucial for a durable and functional result.

In addition to the points mentioned, you should ensure that the inserts remain height-adjustable to accommodate changing storage needs. For the insert accessories, a combination of fixed and adjustable dividers is recommended. This way, you can easily accommodate larger items or small jewelry boxes as needed.

To protect delicate surfaces, it is worth using a soft material covering such as velvet on the inserts, and the drawers should have smooth, dampened closing mechanisms. For chains, simple hooks on the door or a narrow rod with multiple hooks are suitable. This way, you can easily hang your accessories and keep them neatly organized.

Thanks, that sounds very practical! For better planning: I have a height of about 201 cm (79 inches), depth 58 cm (23 inches), and width 100 cm (39 inches) for the Pax. So far, I mainly have shelves and two large drawers. It should include both flat compartments for rings and small drawers for stud earrings, and possibly removable boxes as well. The doors are smooth, not mirrored. Are there specific inserts that fit well within these dimensions? And how would you organize the layout between drawers and open compartments?

With these dimensions, you have quite a bit of space, which offers many possibilities. I would recommend using the lower section for 3 to 4 shallow drawers, ideal for rings and small accessories. You can install inserts with compartments inside the drawers. Reserve the middle section for boxes or removable containers to create flexible storage. The upper half can be used for hanging jewelry and watches, with door hooks or small shelves. It’s worth considering high-quality rails with soft-close mechanisms to protect your valuable jewelry. How tall are your current drawers? Would additional shelves or pull-outs be an option? If you like, I can also suggest some measurements and model numbers.
