Hello everyone, I am currently planning to use my IKEA Besta system in the hallway but I am unsure how to make it both safe and practical. The hallway is quite narrow, so it could quickly become cramped if the furniture isn’t properly adapted. My main concern is ensuring stability so that nothing tips over or wobbles, especially when opening the doors or quickly placing items. At the same time, I want to make the most of the storage space without causing people to bump into it or making the hallway feel cluttered. Maybe you have tips on additional fastenings, useful interior layouts, or which Besta components are best suited for this kind of use? Advice on surface treatment to prevent the furniture from getting dirty or damaged too quickly in the hallway would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your ideas!

Super interesting topic! I still remember how I spruced up my hallway with Besta. Tip: For a wow factor and practical use, I installed a few small LED strips with motion sensors inside – it makes tidying up at night a breeze! And to avoid a narrow hallway feeling: it's better to choose shallow depth and light colors, as they instantly make the space feel larger. My secret tip: a nice runner rug in front of the furniture, which looks stylish and protects the floor.

Great that you’re using BESTA in the hallway! I would also add: If you use conductive materials, avoid fragile elements like glass. This keeps the setup sturdy and safe – no worries about small bumps. And for extra fun: stickers or films for the front, turning your hallway into a highlight! 😄
