Hello everyone,

I am currently working with my IKEA Platsa furniture and looking for ways to modify it as flexibly as possible. My goal is to quickly and easily reconfigure the modules as needed to create both storage space and perhaps a small workspace at times. I am especially interested in practical tips on how to securely connect the individual components, which combinations work well, and whether there are useful extensions or accessories that can significantly expand the possibilities for modification.

Does anyone have experience with flexibly modifying the Platsa modules without losing stability? I would prefer not to permanently screw anything together, but to keep it flexible. Thanks in advance for your advice!

Another tip for flexible design: use shelf supports instead of fixed shelves screwed in place. This way, you can quickly adjust the height.

Also, if you move the modules frequently, I would recommend placing a foam mat or non-slip underlay between the floor and the module. This protects the floor and prevents your furniture from sliding unintentionally.

If flexibility is key, I’d also try working with connectors or Velcro straps.

Ha, exactly right! And if you’re really up for experimenting: magnetic connections I once saw on a construction site are not only super practical but also give the Platsa modules a nice futuristic touch. ?

Use clamp holders for shelves instead of fixed screwed-in shelves.

I can only confirm that; it has often helped me quickly make spontaneous changes without reaching for any tools.

For flexible remodeling, I recommend:
- Using the original connecting hardware
- Installing back panels, even for temporary versions
- Adding casters under the module if frequent repositioning is planned
- Paying attention to the maximum weight, as flat modules are not designed for heavy loads

This is usually sufficient for a flexible and durable remodel of the Platsa series.
