In my home office, I have several Ikea Platsa drawers that have recently started sticking when I try to pull them out or push them in. This mainly happens when the drawers are loaded with heavier items, but even when empty, the mechanism doesn’t seem to operate as smoothly as expected.

I also had constant trouble with my Platsa drawers sticking, which was quite frustrating. A combination of the tips already mentioned helped me:
- Clean thoroughly, which is important if residue has built up
- Use silicone spray to make sliding smoother
- Check and tighten screws
What helped me as well: patience when inserting the drawers. They really need to be pushed in carefully and perfectly straight. Sometimes you unintentionally push the frame slightly out of alignment, which causes sticking.
