Hello everyone, I am currently considering how to equip my Ikea Platsa furniture with lift handles because I don’t find the usual handles very appealing visually and would also like to improve the usability. Are there practical solutions or even specific lift handle models that can be mounted directly or with minor modifications on PLATSA cabinet doors and drawers? Any advice on mounting techniques, possible drilling requirements, or alternatives without permanent installation would be greatly appreciated. Since the PLATSA units are mostly made of wood panels with relatively smooth fronts, I am especially interested in tips on how to install the lift handles in a durable and stable way without compromising the appearance or functionality. A completely drill-free, stable pull-handle solution is not officially provided. Although some third-party suppliers offer clamp handles, these are generally less durable and better suited for lightly loaded furniture parts. A screw-mounted handle is generally advantageous because pull-handles must withstand significant mechanical stress, especially with frequent use. Proper preparation is important, as already recommended: careful measuring, drilling with a sharp drill bit, and evenly tightening the screws. When both appearance and functionality are priorities, screw-mounted pull handles remain the most reliable choice.
