Hello,

the first four months of "living" in our new home are over. We are very happy to have chosen a ventilation system (Zehnder 450). Our house has a living area of 240 m² (2,583 sq ft) and is heated with gas (Buderus Logamax plus), and there is a solar thermal system for hot water. Additionally, we have a tiled stove in the living room.

I turned on the heating exactly four weeks ago and have been tracking the gas consumption. During this time, 125 m³ (4,413 cu ft) of gas was used. October was rather warm. The rooms tend to be too warm (23°C / 73°F), even though the thermostats for the underfloor heating are all set to the lowest setting (level 1).

The desire to make it "cozy" with the tiled stove just doesn’t arise.

What could be going wrong here?

Best regards,
Barossi

Not everyone feels confident handling the technical aspects. If you have any doubts, you should contact your heating specialist. They can adjust the heating period/heating curve according to your preferences.

And how does the heating specialist know the exact preferences of all residents? They can only make a rough adjustment. Nothing more. Who wants to pay a heating specialist to visit weekly just to fine-tune the settings? The specialist should provide an instruction so that everyone can make the fine adjustments themselves. Afterwards, the heating specialist can check again to see if the fine-tuning makes sense.

I told him what Joe wrote here. Temperature around 20 to 21°C (68 to 70°F). Set it so that we can make it cooler, but not much warmer, so it doesn’t keep switching on and off. He seems to have managed that for now.

Hello,
after a few colder nights, a maximum flow temperature of 35°C (95°F) on the heating curve seems to work well for me. In all rooms, with the room thermostat set to the middle position (setting 3), the temperature is just under 20°C (68°F).

Kind regards, Barossi
