Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum and have been unsettled for days because everyone who gives me advice also wants to sell something, and of course, their product is the best.

Regarding the topic:

We bought a house built in 1968 with a current living area of 179m² (1925 sq ft). After converting the attic, an additional 48m² (517 sq ft) of living space will be added.

Since the house has no heating system and is only heated by a wood/coal stove in the living room, it sometimes smells unpleasant. We suspect there is moisture somewhere.

Our plan is as follows:
Replace windows with triple glazing
Remove interior plaster (possibly replace with drywall/gypsum boards to prevent further moisture entering the house)
Completely remove flooring on both levels, including the screed, as it is crumbly and deteriorated with an odor
(Replacement: dry system underfloor heating including all new water and heating pipes)
Clean exterior facade, remove loose render
(Replacement: external insulation)
Completely reroof the house – remove old insulation from 1990, remove battens
(Replacement: new sheathing, vapor barrier, new battens, new roofing, and insulation)

Heating is planned as a 20 kW pellet combi boiler with a pellet storage tank up to 350 kg (770 lbs) plus solar support.

Current heating demand is 325 W/m² (30 W/sq ft) according to the energy certificate.
Walls are 32 cm (12.6 inches) thick.

What do you think? What would you do differently to save costs and time?

(Why drywall for me? Because I can do it myself.)

If anyone finds mistakes in the text, feel free to keep them 🙂 .

Best regards, Sokol
