Hello everyone,
I need some advice on planning the garage for now. See the attachment.
Is a garage width of 5.51m (18 feet) too narrow?
What would be the optimal width?
Best regards,
Franze

You are right; we discussed today that we are less fond of the triple units because they have too many mullions and we would prefer fixed panels. However, in the upper floor, cleaning becomes problematic with fixed elements, so it makes sense to use something like in the study.

FranzeFrancis23 Jan 2016 23:10And here is the sketched plan of the upper floor.
In the bedroom, we have a 60cm (24 inches) space behind the door to place dressers. Walk-in closet.
Two children's rooms, approximately 17m² (183 sq ft) each.
Bathroom with 6.33m² (68 sq ft).
And a storage room for winter clothes.
We are still undecided about the basement. The construction company initially planned it at our request, but we are reconsidering whether it is really necessary. An external access was also included in the plan.

I would definitely plan a workspace between the sink and the stove.
A bathroom of 6.33 sqm (68 sq ft) is quite tight for a house – I don’t think it would be practical to fit a bathtub in there.
There are many corners and recesses in the rooms – what is this 3.5 x 1.8 shape? Is the whole thing going to be two stories?
What do you want to do with this huge bedroom? I’m also not a fan of a walk-in closet that feels like a trapped space. The bay window doesn’t add any value here either – the smaller one in the living room is no longer there (?)
Unfortunately, I’m not too fond of the upper floor layout 🙁
A site plan would be useful – mirroring houses usually suggests that the plot hasn’t really been taken into account (or that it’s a nice, practical plot).
