Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

It’s all a matter of taste, but do you also use facing bricks?
In the South, this is done in less than 1% of cases.

We don’t twist it here

It’s a matter of taste, but for me, it’s a must-have (if the building permit/planning permission allows it)

Gradually, I’m starting to get a clear final total, and it looks like about €20,000 (half from financing and half saved last year) will be left over. The final invoice from the shell builder has also arrived. Including the Schiedel chimney and fireplace, the L-blocks, and the terrain modeling, it comes to exactly €164,000 plus €4,200 for the landfill fees. The plasterer and plumber are still somewhat uncertain but might balance out.

We’ve also decided to tile the entire ground floor in a wood-look finish instead of mixing laminate flooring in the living areas.

I would even go so far as to say that in the South, this is currently THE standard house. Entire new housing developments look like this in some places. A new term — a ZABA house again . It definitely looks harmonious, but it’s not very individual.

Looks nice!
What color shade are the windows? RAL 7xxx?

Thanks.

Even if the development plan had allowed it, we definitely would not have chosen brick cladding. Here, people tend to consider wood instead for (partial) facade design.
