Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Here are some impressions of the development from November until last week.

Why and for what purpose was the ground in the third-to-last picture (155101) excavated / milled again?

Here, we recessed about 3cm (1¼ inches) into the foundation slab "to be on the safe side" to install the duct for the range hood. According to the kitchen installer, it probably would have just barely fit without this, but we wanted to be safe and also have enough insulation on top.

The garage is in place [emoji4]

Regarding the building inspector: today he already proved his worth again. The plumber did not install the outdoor water tap pipes properly, so they need to be corrected. Additionally, the threshold of the garden door is not properly sealed against moisture—at least not on the sides. The windows have also not been correctly fixed yet, so they will have to come back for a third time. None of these issues would have been noticed by us without the DEKRA expert, because to the untrained eye everything looks very neat.

We somewhat regret not having someone accompany us for the inspection of the underfloor heating. Would you recommend scheduling an additional appointment for that?

Dear friends of home building,

Today, to our great delight, the ceilings of the two extensions were concreted.

Roof construction site with scaffolding and crane; in the background, white houses with red roofs and green hills.

Flat concrete surface with scaffolding at the edge of a residential area, houses and trees behind.

This is how the house looks now:

Best regards

I was definitely glad we did it that way. For example, it was discovered that only 180 m (590 ft) of piping was installed in the bathroom, instead of the planned 240 m (790 ft). Once the screed is poured on top, you can’t see anything anymore...
