Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Ah, the basement is finished, just waiting to proceed? And then the wall will be built stone by stone, right? Why isn’t the basement built stone by stone? Isn’t that better, or why are there these two options if I may ask.

Because a masonry basement is not as waterproof as one made of waterproof concrete. This is completely normal.

Oh, one more note: the basement is not finished yet. The concrete still needs to be poured into the wall cavities and the ceiling.

Great, now my entire text is gone [emoji35]

@Eldea that’s not a waterproofing! Where are the sheets between the slab and the walls?
What do you mean by sheets?

Google "joint flashing" – the first link is Wikipedia.
Was this executed like this in your case?

More information can be found using the following Google search terms:
“watertight concrete structures” (first link)
"abp joint seals" (first link)

I had to check whether this was done the same way in our case.
@xray107 is referring to this:

Concrete foundation slab with continuous edge reinforcement, surrounded by construction plastic sheeting on site.

Was it installed like that at your place?

Glatthaar is also mentioned under abp joint sealing. I believe they use their own system for their Aqua basement.
However, they didn’t use a joint tape.
I’m not an expert, so I can’t say for sure if a Glatthaar prefabricated basement is a true waterproof tank (tank waterproofing). [emoji848]
