Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

@Dennis89: Nice house. Unlike @Climbee, I would also accept the Indian-style dressing room (beyond the corridor) for the forest view.

From my own experience with a forest view from the sleeping area: Since our windows facing the forest are not obscured by shutters, curtains, or blinds and are positioned so that you can easily look outside while lying down, we see many different birds and sometimes deer directly from the bed. We tend to wake up naturally with the light rather than following fixed times.

May I ask for the exact name of the tiles? They look great 😎
Unfortunately, I can only tell you once I have the invoice. We picked them out at a local tile specialist store, checked if they were still affordable, and then had them delivered. However, I think @Myrna_Loy was right with the guess "Is that the Verde1999 Lava in Nero?"

Here are already the two recently tiled bathrooms.
I really like it 😉 It looks exactly as I imagined.

Renovation bathroom: large dark floor tiles, white shower tray with red edge sealing, unfinished walls.

Bathroom under renovation: dark tiles, unfinished walls, shower area on the left.

Did you pay attention to the installation direction? The cement haze can still be a bit misleading.

They are very nice. We are currently considering the cream-colored tumbled version for the kitchen instead of natural stone. But actually, I would prefer a 30 x 30 cm (12 x 12 inches) format there.

We were strongly advised against using the black ones in bathrooms with hard water. Many customers have already complained about that. However, we are thinking about installing a whole-house water softening system, and then the dark gray ones might be suitable for the bathroom.

Thank you, I think so too.

I believe we have moderately hard water with just under 10 °dH (degrees German hardness) total hardness. According to the tile specialist store here, this should keep the limescale issue within limits.

Thank you, I agree.

It really looks great. Thanks for the info about the brand. Unfortunately, I can't find a retailer that stocks these tiles, but I'll manage to find one somehow :-)
What did you pay per m² (per sq ft) for the 60x60cm (24x24 inch) tiles?
