Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

I would also like to exchange the “colorful” house for our gray one and see the house without the scaffolding!
So, finally done. The last bit of scaffolding was taken down just a few minutes ago. I am proudly happy to present our “bare” house now.

Modern white residential house with solar panels on the roof; construction workers at the entrance.

White multi-story house with gray pitched roof; construction progress, wooden boards in front of the entrance.

Exterior view of a shell construction: white plastered house, covered windows, ladder and building materials.

@ i_b_n_a_n Why didn’t you quickly install any pigeon deterrent on the roof beams while the scaffolding was still up? Or am I just not seeing the device?

Maybe he likes pigeons or other birds.
😉

Is this really a big issue? In our rental house, we don’t have any bird deterrent wires and no problems at all. But it might also depend on the specific area.

Actually, we haven't given it much thought. Visually, I don't like them at all. We'll wait and see if they become necessary. If needed, we can still reach with a ladder to install a bird deterrent.

I probably should have installed the bird deterrent while the scaffolding was still up! Now we have a lot of droppings at the base of the facade because a bird of prey has taken over our roof / rafter tails. There are large fields on two sides. Seems to be a good vantage point...

In our rented apartment, jay birds tried to build a nest for three consecutive years, and this summer they finally succeeded. They are beautiful animals, but not the best nest builders, as they dropped large amounts of branches.

Therefore, I installed pigeon deterrents directly during our house construction.
