Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

The houses are quite close together in your area. That wouldn’t suit me.

But without deer and farmers
To me, that looks like a normal density, which is becoming less common nowadays. These days, the trend seems to be more like cage farming for mortgage debtors, in my impression. A house should come with a plot of land, not just a parking space for the foundation slab and a little space from the property boundary.

It's all a matter of money! Here, plots over 600m2 (6458 square feet) don’t sell for less than 200,000–250,000. If you want more for your money, you’ll have to move to the countryside and commute dozens of kilometers (miles) every day.

Still, it’s definitely better than a semi-detached house or an apartment.
So, let's continue with the pictures.

Even with money, it’s impossible to find a plot here—it’s purely a matter of luck. There haven’t been any building plots for sale for over two years, except for undesirable ones (next to a gas station or just 5m [16 ft] away from a railway line).

Here, you really have to be glad if you can get a plot of land.
In addition, our neighbors and we have just built our houses right up to the 3-meter (10-foot) boundary. So, that makes a total distance of 6 meters (20 feet) between the buildings. On the other side, there is a carport, and next door, a garage.

Yesterday, the final layer of exterior plaster was applied.
After the protective film was removed from the windows today, we were able to see it almost finished for the first time.

The interior plastering is 90% complete, and we have now started with the underfloor heating for the screed. Unfortunately, we are experiencing delivery delays with the tiles, so we’re not sure if moving in at the beginning of December will be possible... :/
