Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Why does no one build a bungalow with an atrium anymore?
That would be a dream

Because it’s unaffordable.

There is an example of this concept in the model home park in Günzburg. I think it’s Bien-Zenker.

Probably also an energy disaster.

Really?
I would start building according to my design immediately if I were allowed.
What could it possibly cost?

... of my numb feet – at least as far as what came out last year (not here, but in the green forum). Does your example represent your ideal home? Even this symbolic version of a chancellor’s bungalow, just by size, probably requires a plot of at least 700 m² (not counting awkwardly shaped areas). Placing something like that at the end of a cul-de-sac would certainly be quite impressive.

It’s not my dream house. However, I could imagine a bungalow with an atrium.
I just sketched this quickly.

A bungalow with an atrium needs to be well-designed to have the right effect. The plot size, as @11ant mentioned, also has to be suitable. Usually, the zoning plan and energy efficiency regulations interfere as well... ah, and of course, the money!

@Mellina You have a climbing gym? I’ll say it again: cool!! Have you mentioned whether you’re building with an architect or a general contractor?

Do you have a floor plan you could share, @hampshire?

It’s somewhere in here – not on the hard drive of my current computer anymore, I’ll have to check my archive sometime to see what I can find electronically.
