Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

@Mellina looks really great. I also like the floors with the liquid cork.

Yes, there was a thread, but I deleted my posts in a sudden and quick action.

How did you do that? You can only edit your posts for a limited time, right?

@Solveigh It looks great at your place, I really like it...

I can only say the same! I really like your windows. Is that oak? I still guess you’re south of me. We need to manage to chat via private message.

@ Solveigh Where is the parquet from? Is it natural oiled or more whitewashed?

The parquet is white oiled oak, NOT brushed. From Boen. If I had to decide again, I’d choose a more uniform grade. Unfortunately, we only ever saw small sample areas. To me, it’s too knotty, but that’s my own fault.

50 tons of soil spread in the garden.

Before:

Yellow CAT construction machine with bucket on gravel, building in the background.

Yellow front loader with bucket standing on unpaved yard, fields in the background.

After:

Garden with earthy soil next to a white house; round manhole cover, fence, and trees in the background.

White two-story house with unpaved soil in the garden, construction work ongoing.

Conclusion:

Another 50 tons are still needed for the front area and in front of the terrace.

I find it relatively knot-free (or with very small knots) and apparently with little filler, but I understand what you mean. I also had various samples that at first I liked for their color tone and seemingly quite knot-free appearance. However, with another sample piece, it looked much knotier again. You really need to see at least two square meters beforehand to be able to judge.

Due to COVID-19, my husband is now on 100% reduced working hours, and finally long-postponed projects are being completed!

For example, the workshop!
Here is the pre-COVID condition:

Interior with wooden walls: bike on Tacx trainer, worktable, window, clock.

Wood-paneled basement workshop with shelves, bicycle wheel, jacket, and crates of drinks.

Wood workshop with ceiling pipes, workbench with tools on the right, cabinet on the left, door leading outside.

And now the newly created workshop with a large workbench (unfortunately you can’t say post-COVID):

Wood workshop with workbench, bikes on the wall, standing fan, jackets on shelves

Wood workshop with workbench, drill, saw, and wooden boards on the work surface.

Bright wood room as workshop with stationary bike, workbench, tools, large window and door.

Our skis and poles finally have a nice place and are no longer in the way.
