Hello,

could you please upload the pictures in a larger size? By the way, the terrace direction is only partly related to the ridge orientation.

Always facing south is ideal, with good shading.

West-facing is too hot in summer, otherwise too shady, and the weather side is windy.

I usually prefer having several seating areas – in the summer evenings, a north-facing orientation can also be suitable for enjoying the sunset or a sundowner.

It always depends: I find south ideal with normal shading; west works well if there is a covered seating area; plus in spring and autumn you get the longest afternoon sun outdoors facing west.

Every orientation has its pros and cons. However, I agree that in hot weather a west-facing terrace without a solid roof becomes way too hot.
