Hello!
What do you think about a house built from aerated concrete? Would you generally recommend it or advise against it? Can I easily hang kitchen cabinets so that they don’t come loose once loaded?

Best regards, Melanie

Hello,
can someone tell me where I can find information about aerated concrete:
I need a description of masonry made of gas concrete, where the wall consists of two blocks per row. That is, two blocks with different densities (D500 + D400).

Best regards, Jana

Regarding fastenings, it is advisable not to drill a hole but rather create the hole by using an impact anchor or a sufficiently thick nail (for example, H+H Celcon offers a recommended set). This way, you do not remove material from the already low-density structure but instead compact the fastening area, which works well.

So, I use aerated concrete screws, which I simply drive into the wall with a cordless drill (a bit difficult by hand...). Done. I have already hung very heavy items on them. It seems particularly important that the thread is consistent along the entire length of the screw.
