My husband and I (he is 61, I am 55) lived in my parents’ house until a few weeks ago. It was a huge old house that we had renovated to some extent, but there were still many things that needed to be done. We had an almost 1500 m² (16,000 sq ft) garden, lots of steps, etc. So, it simply wasn’t suitable for us in our “later years.”
We have two children; my son is almost 18, already working or in training and earning his own money. My daughter is 20 and studying, but she will finish at the latest within 4 years.
We sold our old house and, after all the various payments, we have about €130,000 (around $140,000) left. When my husband retires early in one year, we will have a combined monthly income of approximately €2800 (about $3000).
Now the question is: Where to live? I have always lived in the countryside, and having my own garden or private space to feel comfortable has always been very important to me. We also have a German Shepherd and a cat. So the most important thing for me is simply a small garden! I prefer not going on holidays and instead feeling comfortable at home.
So here’s my question: Do you think it’s possible to find a house again? That would be fantastic, my dream come true!
Of course, I’ve considered renting, but rental costs are usually more than €1100 (around $1200), which is quite a lot.
I found the following offer and would appreciate it if someone could take a look:
FREEHOLD HOUSE instead of rental apartment – PROMOTION monthly from €633 (about $690),
2454 Sarasdorf, 94 m² (1012 sq ft)
Is there some catch? Or do you really pay just €633 or slightly more monthly for rent and service charges and then the house belongs to us?

In other words: If you, for example, pay 80% of the costs upfront, you only have to pay 633 monthly for the remaining installment,...
You can toss offers like this straight in the trash,... An individual financing plan based on your conditions, your plot of land, and house can end up with a monthly payment of 633 or 2000€.
Such offers are usually just used to collect contact information.
