After my first post along with the reply disappeared, I’m trying again... The house was built in 1910 with walls made of stones, partly bricks and concrete blocks, and should be insulated. Is it sufficient to install a vapor-permeable membrane on the inside, then mineral wool in wooden frames, and finish with an OSB board on the inside without a membrane? Or could this cause problems with the dew point? Regards

This cannot be answered simply, as there are many factors involved. How thick are the walls, in which region is the house located, what is the exact wall composition, and how thick are the insulation materials? For interior insulation of older buildings, I would not plan without an energy consultant (with experience!). The potential damages and costs are too high.

What a mess that many useful answers were deleted right away. Why?

The main takeaway was more like: Don’t do it without precise calculations (there are online tools that allow you to make rough estimates).

I expect the dew point to be inside the wall, which could lead to serious building damage.

Get expert knowledge involved if you don’t have it yourself! Otherwise, as mentioned above, potential damages can be very extensive (I speak from experience, as I still own a very old house myself...).

So, once again the answer: The likelihood of moisture in the wall is very high. Search for "ubakus" and simulate the wall construction.

I also clearly recommend having the work done by professionals and only if external insulation is not an option (either technically or aesthetically).

We have interior insulation ourselves, and it is well done (the previous owner, exceptionally, invested money and hired professionals instead of doing it themselves or using handymen), but I would always prefer external insulation.

However, the ubakus calculator is not well suited for older buildings. At best, it can serve as a rough guideline.
