Hello,
We have reserved a corner lot and have received a site plan as well as the written regulations. All other houses in this area are already built and all have their main entrance facing the southern street. However, our plot is the outermost one, with streets on the south and west sides. The front gardens are all shown facing south.
Nowhere is it explicitly stated to which street the main entrance must face or that it has to be where the front garden is marked. I assume such requirements might be specified in these documents – but that we are free to decide the location of the main entrance, also the driveway, and the “open” side of the property?

Then you will just go in circles. Well, we also approached the plot from the opposite direction back then and received a lot of ridicule. So first we looked for an architect, developed a concept, and then together with the architect, we reviewed the potential plots. The whole process went quite successfully; on your own, you simply don’t have the same options, time, or experience.

The process with house builders works a bit differently, which is why I am writing here - No, not really.
I already advised you in an earlier post to find a temporary construction partner. That naturally implies a relative commitment to a building system and a provider. Provided that the offer and service match—which can all be verified—the provider is what is repeatedly referred to in this forum as reputable. Many of my colleagues in the industry have years of experience and can provide valuable guidance and support in finding the right solution.
If you had taken that step, you would have a contact person today and would not be relying solely on the support of the users in this forum. By the way, I consider this somewhat careless, since everyone has different preferences, and the written word is not always the truth; rarely is a situation 1:1 transferable to another construction project.

Henrik081712325 Jul 2016 13:55Please read again. The plans are available – both to me and the builder. From the very first thread, I have been referring to these plans.
Why is it that out of the 25,000 members here, it’s always the same three types trying to derail a thread instead of helping???

Henrik081712325 Jul 2016 13:57Huh?? I do have a home builder. A dedicated contact person. However, he is not an architect. I have to rely on his statements, such as "Yes, that is possible." But I want to have additional confirmation to avoid surprises later, especially after purchasing the plot. Unfortunately, the assigned architect for all the details only comes in after the purchase through the provider and the plot.
