We are now ready to start our single-family house project, which will be built on a sloped plot. The question is whether we should assign the architectural work directly to our builder or hire an independent architect, which would certainly be significantly more expensive.
@11ant There are many people here who find your posts entertaining. However, it should be asked whether people are looking for jokes or solutions. I would be interested to know how many houses you have actually built yourself. Unfortunately, for those asking questions, it is not helpful at all when you dismiss all answers at once in your usual manner, but I forgot, you are the emperor of China.
There are genuinely people here with serious questions who probably have no experience and are therefore seeking help. Your silly remarks don’t help anyone; instead, they only cause frustration. Around 8,000 posts in 2 years? Quantity over quality? Use your reputation to assist those interested and stop the hostility!

How would you proceed from here? Should we simultaneously consult one or two architects to present our requirements? Would their initial sketches typically involve any costs?

How would you proceed from here? Waiting seems like a reasonable next step. You don’t necessarily have to assume that everything is lost when dealing with a general contractor’s planner.
