Hello everyone,
we have purchased a fully serviced plot and discussed the additional construction costs with a general contractor during the sales meeting. Here, 3500 euros were estimated for the wastewater section.
We also obtained quotes for the earthworks. The excavator included the installation of underground drainage pipes ("KG pipes"), the inspection chamber, and the cistern in his offer. He told us, "Everything related to wastewater leaving the property is covered in my quote."
Now we are wondering what the 3500 euros for wastewater actually covers. What work might still be missing? From my understanding, the pipe that connects the property’s wastewater to the local sewage system still needs to be installed, but that shouldn’t cost 3500 euros, right? Could you possibly help clarify this?
Best regards

Well... 200€ more for the inspection by the building authority (building permit / planning permission).
I think the quotes from the general contractor and the earthworks subcontractor overlap significantly. In our case, the earthworks subcontractor handled connecting the wastewater cistern and the rainwater cistern to the downpipes together. Cost in 2013: 5500€ (about $xxxx).

I just double-checked because I didn’t have this item in mind – it was actually included in the purchase price according to the notarized contract. It states the following:
- Water house connection costs: flat rate up to 10m (33 feet)
- Water connection fee: € per m² (square meter) of land area
- Sewer connection fee: € per m² (square meter) of land area, which amounted to about €1600 in our case (466m² (5014 sq ft) * 1.25 * €2.75). Please don’t ask about the factor; I have no idea. It should presumably be specified in the municipal regulations or something similar.
