Hello,

I met with the electrician today regarding the application for the electricity network connection and temporary construction power. He suggested two options. Which one is better?

Option 1:

Install a connection pillar on the property, then connect the temporary construction power distribution box to it, and later run the connection from there to the house. Apparently, I would not pay a temporary construction power tariff, but a regular electricity tariff instead, and I would not need a main distribution board, only a distribution box.

Option 2:

Have temporary construction power installed, then remove everything afterwards and run cables into the house to the main distribution board.

Thank you in advance.

There is enough space, and the pillar would not bother me.

Option 1 would have been about €200 cheaper, but that wouldn’t have made up for having an ugly column right in front of the front door.
If you don’t mind the column, just go with the cheaper option; later on, neither option will have any real advantages or disadvantages.

I specifically wanted the pedestal. This way, we had electricity on the property even before the first ground-breaking of the construction project, and it was more cost-effective because the main utility provider set the maximum cable length for a fixed price, allowing the house electrician to connect the rest under much better conditions.

The pedestal is located by the fence and does not obstruct in any way.
