Hello everyone,

we have been searching for a house for quite some time and have finally found a great one.
The interior of the house is fully finished and complete. Only the exterior still requires some work. To properly estimate the costs, we are currently preparing a (financial) plan for the exterior design.

While doing this, we realized that we are not sure whether the house just needs a splash guard or if the foundation has only been partially done and still requires insulation and other work.
Since we are complete beginners, we would appreciate your advice.

Best regards,
Sabine

The base coat plaster is missing.

Is the brown material the insulation of the concrete slab?

How large are the roof overhangs?

The dimpled membrane should at least be installed correctly.

It should actually look like this in the end.

Yes, the brown material should be the insulation. There is no basement. I’m not sure if this information changes anything.
The roof overhangs are 63 cm (25 inches) on each side.

The dimpled membrane was apparently installed only in areas where something was already built onto the house – the terrace and the kitchen exit.

We are planning a splash guard around the entire house using dimpled membrane, geotextile fabric, and gravel.

We are just not sure if anything else needs to be done here.

Yes. Base plaster, with a moisture barrier behind it, for example, a waterproof slurry. Some prefer bitumen paint, but it is toxic during application. Be careful and wear a full protective suit. You can mix and apply waterproof slurry yourself. Just search online. There are some YouTube videos. Base plaster is something for professionals.
