Hello everyone,
I want to install decentralized ventilation units from Südwind in our house (model Ambientika smart). According to the technical datasheet, they have an internal duct with a diameter of 162mm (6.4 inches).
Now I’m wondering: What diameter should the core drill hole be? Does the hole need to be larger so that the duct and the wall mounting sleeve fit well and can still be sealed properly? What exact diameter should I use? Thanks, Lars

I need to clarify something:
At Luftbude, it is correctly stated—they have recognized that using 180mm (7 inches) makes sense. They also have their own installation teams who have likely already "tested" this.
However, the installation manual directly from the manufacturer Südwind specifies 160mm (6.3 inches), which in my opinion is rather suboptimal.
ambientika.eu/c/gebrauchsanweisung/ --> scroll to Ambientica smart --> installation manual ventilation unit --> p. 44, image 1.
This is why there is often confusion. I hope I was able to provide some clarification...

@Lüftermax ... for me, it’s page 49 ... but never mind. You are, of course, right that this is quite confusing. I believe the image mainly concerns the distances to the adjacent wall and ceiling, but it’s not very helpful for the user.
Usually, I would always recommend the manufacturers’ websites ... but here it is really very vague.

Thank you for your effort. I have now had a craftsman on site do the work. He used 180mm (7 inches). So, you were basically all right.
The manufacturer's instructions did indeed mention 160mm (6.3 inches). It’s quite unfortunate. If I had done it myself, I probably would have been annoyed if the drilling had been 100% exact (which in my case would have been very likely).
