Good evening,

we are planning a townhouse with a hip roof (floor plan 10.7 x 9.6 meters (35 x 31.5 feet) plus a small porch).

What roof pitch have you chosen for this type of house and why? I am considering a 25° pitch, but maybe that is too steep?

We would also like to install a photovoltaic system on the roof; is a steeper roof pitch better for this?

What roof overhang have you chosen?

Best regards!

We found that 25° gives the best visual result in my opinion.

At 25°, you still have about 1.8 m (6 feet) of space left for storing boxes.

Photovoltaics: which heating system should be chosen?

Hello, 25° might be a bit too much; we have 23° and I’ve attached the cross-section. A steeper roof would look somewhat too “tower-like.”

Best regards,

Andreas
