Hello
I want to renovate my living room, and my dream is to have a herringbone parquet floor in light oak, which should be glued down. It should be an easy-to-maintain brand-name parquet, preferably from Austria. The plank width should not be too narrow, but at least 12 cm (5 inches). I have found Weitzer Parkett and Admonter. I have seen Admonter on some influencers’ Instagram accounts and found it very appealing. I also like the dimensions of 12 x 59 cm (5 x 23 inches). However, it is quite expensive, and I believe there is no showroom in Germany. The Weitzer Parkett has a width of 12 cm (5 inches) and a length of 75 cm (30 inches). I am not sure if that looks good. In the pictures, I didn’t find it so attractive. Does anyone here have herringbone parquet, and which brands would you recommend? It should be durable and have a low-maintenance finish like the Weitzer.
Best regards

Try visiting a specialty store. They usually have a good selection.

Parquet is just wood. The "brand" doesn’t really matter to the wood. Both suppliers will sell you a standard engineered parquet/flooring. And "low-maintenance" is relative...

Every parquet is durable. But you will see the wear over time—that’s natural. Lacquered flooring is somewhat more resistant but, in my opinion, often loses some of the natural look. Oiled flooring means you’ll need to do regular maintenance or re-oiling.

For me, the parquet brand has been irrelevant for 30 years. It has to look good to me and have a reasonably thick wear layer. Sometimes I even go for clearance items from Haro, for example.
