I’m very glad to have found this forum and hope you can help me with a little issue regarding electrical outlets. Sometimes I feel a bit unsure when planning my house, but I think that’s a common experience here.

I’m currently working on deciding where and how many outlets to install. Where would you place them?

I have attached a floor plan...

I look forward to your suggestions and ideas!

Best regards

At least two double outlets in all corners...

At every window, at least one outlet, or for large windows, one on each side, or even double outlets.

In the smaller rooms, at least 8 outlets... also double outlets in the corners...

Consider where all the appliances and furniture will be placed and what you want to plug in...

In the kitchen, on the left and right sides of the countertop, two double outlets each... above the cabinets, two outlets; near the sink, below, two outlets; by the refrigerator, a triple outlet; extractor fan, one outlet.

In the TV area, 10 outlets.

We have an outlet below every light switch, and in each room, there are two outlets in every corner. As mentioned before, there is an outlet and roller shutter control next to every window. Additionally, in areas planned for desks, TV corners, craft spaces, etc., there are several outlets, usually four each. These locations also include network and ISDN or telephone outlets.

In the kitchen, there are four outlets lined up along each long side above the countertop, four outlets in the corner, and of course outlets for the refrigerator, freezer, stove, dishwasher, and extractor hood behind the cabinets.

In the stairwell, there is also an outlet below every light switch and on each floor a low-level outlet for the vacuum cleaner.

Remember to plan for outlets on the floor near the satellite dish and similar equipment.

We have 4-5 in the bedrooms, which is more than enough. We only have one on two windows, used for Christmas decorations. We have manual roller shutters. In the kitchen, we have 8. There is one in each hallway. By the TV, there are only 2. I have all devices connected to power strips for easy switching on and off.

Well, if you are building new, you shouldn’t expect to use multiple socket outlets... this is the completely wrong approach...
