Good morning house building forum and everyone,

I’m new here and also just starting the preliminary planning as a future homeowner.

As you could read in the subject, I have a general question about heating systems. We have already had several discussions with different prefab home companies (Streif Haus, Fingerhaus, Schwabenhaus, etc.). In all these conversations, we hoped to get clarity on which system would be the better heating option.

We would like to clarify the following areas:

- Economic aspects
- Ecological impact
- Sustainability (durability of the appliances and similar factors)
- Heating performance
- Additional costs for cooling in summer
(All systems were offered to us with underfloor heating.)

Unfortunately, we’re even more confused now, hence the request here in the forum.
(Of course, we also hope for a bit more “honesty” here... after all, these companies want to make their money.)

PS: The house to be built should be at least a KfW 55 standard, ideally a KfW 40.

Many thanks in advance for reading.
Best regards,
Datin

The purchase was a bit challenging because none of the tradespeople we asked for quotes from seemed to really know much about it. They all specialize in gas...

I'm curious to see what else will come up for us.
