Good morning!

For the edging of the paving or splash protection: How high should the curbs be? They come in sizes from 10 to 30 cm (4 to 12 inches). Is 15 cm (6 inches) enough?

If I set 1/3 of it in concrete, that leaves 10 cm (4 inches) for backfilling with gravel, or if the paving is 8 cm (3 inches) thick, then only 2 cm (1 inch) for the gravel. Would 20 cm (8 inches) be better? Or even 30 cm (12 inches)?

The price difference is negligible, but I imagine handling stones over 40 kg (88 lbs) would be difficult.

What are you using?

The higher the better for stability. We chose 30 cm (12 inches) or 25 cm (10 inches); I don’t think the hardware store even had lower options...
And in areas where cars pass over, we were advised to go with 8-10 cm (3-4 inches) wide instead of the usual 5 cm (2 inches).
