Hello everyone,

can someone tell me how high the room in the attic will be if we build a 1.60m (5 ft 3 in) knee wall with a 28-degree gable roof?
I mean the height right in the middle of the attic.

Thanks and good luck

To answer this, two more details are needed:
1. What is the width of the house?
2. What is the knee wall height (dwarf wall)? The term knee wall is not clearly defined throughout Germany; sometimes it is measured up to the cut surface of the roof covering. Is it referring to the height of the interior wall area measured from the finished floor to the inside of the roof slope cladding?

Hi, the house is 10.30m (33.8 feet) wide. Yes, the kneewall is 1.6m (5.25 feet) high measured on the inside at the walls. Thanks.

The ceiling height will then be 4.34 m (14 ft 3 in) at the highest point, including the knee wall.
Have a nice Sunday, baucoach.

Ok, thanks a lot. So, if I subtract the upper floor -2.52 m (8 ft 3 in), minus the ceiling 0.27 m (11 in), minus the roof thickness about 0.38 m (15 in), then I have approximately 1.18 m (46 in) of height in the walkable attic space for placing suitcases, etc. Is that calculation correct? Thanks again.

Then I need to ask more precisely: Is the 10.30 m (34 feet) house width an external or internal measurement?
How thick are the external walls?
