Hello everyone,

I have the following issue. I have two rooms, both with laminate flooring. At the doorway, there is quite a high height difference (about 4 cm (1.6 inches)), so I cannot use a transition strip since they usually only accommodate up to 2 cm (0.8 inches) difference.

What options do I have to create a proper transition between the two rooms? In addition, the laminate at the doorway is not cut very neatly because I assumed a transition strip would cover it.

I would appreciate any tips.
Best regards

That’s quite a proper door threshold.

1. I would have the carpenter make a type of square timber and have it color-matched; cover the transition between the laminate flooring and the “square timber” with a proper transition strip.

2. Use a stair edge profile.
