Hi, we have installed a mezzanine in our living room. The base of the mezzanine consists of three-layer panels that rest directly on the joists.
Now, since we need some lighting beneath the mezzanine, we want to run the cables over the mezzanine floor so that the cables are not visible.
These are several 5x1.5 NYM cables, which have a thickness of about 1 cm (0.4 inches).
We are wondering how we can even out this height difference. Ultimately, laminate or cork flooring will be installed.
Using a leveling compound is not really an option for me.
Are there any types of panels that could be laid for this purpose?
Best regards,
Chris

The base of the gallery is made of three-layer boardsHow about "routing slots"? Usually, these boards are at least 28mm (1.1 inches) thick. That would provide enough space for a 10mm (0.4 inch) thick cable (aren’t they actually not that thick?). The cables usually only run a short distance and not from one wall to the other, so in my opinion, this wouldn’t be a problem for the stability.

But there are quite a few cables, so I would prefer an alternative. At least it would be good if I don't have to lay all the cables entirely under the floor and maybe only need to compensate for half of them.
The panels are 30mm (1.2 inches) thick.

rewiring to a flat cable, which is flatter and means you don’t have to rout the channels as deep Do you have a specific suggestion?
I have only found riser cables. But those are generally no longer used today or are not suitable for installation on wood.
