Hello,
The underfloor heating is currently being installed in our new build, and I noticed this bend.

You can feel a narrowing when you press on it.
The architect and heating company say this is fine, but I don’t agree.
Edit: Some info about the heating pipe being used: Empur Klimapex PE-RT 17x2 millimeters (approx. 0.67x0.08 inches).
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

Sebastian7921 Jan 2016 20:02It really looks chaotic – the spacing between the pipes is completely uneven. The bend is not only unnecessary, but really excessive.
Oxygen diffuses into the system through the pipes and gradually corrodes all the steel components – this leads to sludge buildup. A professional company hasn’t installed something like this for a long time.

According to the tender, apparently PE-Xa 5-layer pipes are to be used instead of PE-RT. I still need to check what is actually installed in the house, as normally this information is printed on the pipe.
Regarding the kink issue, they want to cut out the affected section and insert a new piece with couplings. I politely declined this, as I do not want to see anything like couplings in a new construction. They should completely replace the entire loop.

I have nine of them myself – completely fine.
PS: By the way, the correct oxygen barrier pipe is used.

Sebastian7921 Jan 2016 20:45That's right, but it's an RT pipe, and it says it's oxygen-tight – I was only familiar with XA pipes and aluminum composite ones as being airtight.
Well, you'll have to clarify that yourself.
