Hello,
perhaps a somewhat naive question: What information does the heating engineer need in advance—besides the desired heating system? I have floor plans and, of course, details about the walls, insulation, and materials. Is that enough for a start? Thanks for your feedback.

That should be enough. If it’s good, it will calculate the heating load based on your information. Most likely, it won’t do that and will install it by feel instead.

What do you mean by the desired heating system?
Type: e.g., gas condensing boiler
Brand: heating system Bosch, model XY, Z kilowatts

Usually, the sanitary manufacturers they work with handle this. I would leave the specification of a particular device to the company.

In addition to the documents you mentioned, I also provided the energy saving regulation calculation. This allowed them to determine the appropriate heating load and size the solar system accordingly.

Otherwise, they need to know where everything should be installed, etc.

Should heating also cover sanitary installations? Then, for example, remember outdoor faucets; these are often easily overlooked.

@Osnabruecker I still need the energy saving ordinance calculation. If I understand correctly, the energy consultant handles that?

When it comes to a new build including new heating surfaces, you can forget about the energy saving regulation calculation. If you want to do it properly, only a room-by-room heating load calculation matters, which is also used to size the underfloor heating.

Maybe a silly question, but if I have the heating load calculated per room by an engineer/specialist/technical office, can I simply add the individual heating loads of each room together to get the total heating load of the building?
