Hello, after about three quarters of a year, I finally received the offer for a maintenance contract for our heating system. It is an air-to-water heat pump. What is the general opinion in this forum regarding an annual maintenance contract, and what is the usual cost and what services should be included? The offer is now from the company that installed the heating system on behalf of the general contractor. Are there also options to inquire directly with the manufacturer?
Thank you and best regards

I keep telling my kid he should go into building services engineering. That field guarantees job security until retirement.
He just needs to get a master craftsman’s qualification as well, because journeymen don’t earn much.
But he still has at least six years to decide.

If I did, I would be watching YouTube and playing computer games, poisoning the dog with chocolate, leaving my trash and clothes everywhere, and never going to school again. Oh, and of course, I wouldn’t go to bed, never brush my teeth, and I probably wouldn’t even reach the age when people usually start their vocational training. I dare say it would be similar with your child.
Regarding their career choice, they would try to become an influencer, focus on nothing else, and most likely make a living from welfare benefits and/or temporary jobs.
Though, I’m doing him an injustice: right now, he is interested in volunteering for the fire department. Maybe he wants to become a professional firefighter one day. I would find that great too.
Replace "must" with "should, if you want financial security and an interesting job content..."

Unfortunately, that is often close to the truth. It should not be forgotten that the BAFA subsidy for heat pumps, which was available until last year, required a mandatory maintenance contract. Thanks for the info. I actually didn’t know that. I completed the BAFA subsidy application at the end of 2020.

I always say, do what you feel like doing, not what someone else “tells” you. 😉I’d love to be a millionaire through my job, but that hasn’t happened yet... And when I look at all the lawyers and journalists from my studies and how many of them actually have a proper job, no thanks. Interest is important, but it’s pointless if you can’t support your life with that job.
