Hello everyone, a question: Is it correct to turn all thermostats fully up when controlling the system directly via the boiler? Background: I have a Vitodens 222-f and am generally satisfied with my settings. All thermostats are set to 5, the heating runs from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM at 22°C (72°F) and is lowered to 18°C (64°F) during the night setback. My wife is at home, the kids are at school, and I work all day. The three bedrooms and the upstairs bathroom only really need heating from about 1 PM onward. Can I install electronic thermostats there, or would that be counterproductive? I believe I read that electronic thermostats can "work against" a central heating control. But if I only let the thermostats operate within the already set heating period, does it not make a difference? So I would still heat from 5:30 AM to 5:30 PM, but fully turn up the thermostats on the upper floor only from 12 PM… and briefly from 5:30 AM to 7:30 AM—otherwise I get in trouble with the three women.

Or does it make little or no difference energy-wise if I only heat the upper floor starting six hours later?

Is my question clearly expressed?
